Our Mission

Our mission is to educate decision-makers and emerging leaders about the benefits of transitioning to environmentally responsible energy sources, through evidence-based resources, analytical tools, and public forums.

Our Approach

The Energy Transition Institute advances its mission by fostering evidence-based analysis and dialogue, specifically in pursuit of the following objectives:

  • Elevate new analysis and analytical resources to support ambitious low-carbon energy resource plans and policies;

  • Activate a community of analysts and thought leaders committed to evidence-based measures to accelerate the energy transition; and

  • Educate decision-makers and emerging leaders on how the region can advance its clean energy economy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Who We Are

The Energy Transition Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank, incorporated in North Carolina. We're a community of energy policy advisors and analysts committed to advancing the U.S. transition to sustainable, zero-carbon energy. Our advisory group includes experts with a century of collective experience in U.S. energy policy, including pioneers of the clean energy industry.
